COURTLAND –Joseph Richard “Ricky” Forrest IV, 65, passed away May 6, 2025 in his home with family by his side. Born and raised in Southampton County, he was a son of the late Joseph Richard Forrest III and Jane Wiltermood Forrest.
Ricky was a truck driver. He loved family, friends, farming, golf carting and his grandpups.
Left to cherish his memory is a daughter, Kayla Forrest Harrison; a son, Justin Forrest; three sisters, Jean Forrest, Dori Thurman and Debbie Peterson; a brother, John Forrest; a niece and three nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 9 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Kidd officiating. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Courtland Volunteer Fire Department.
