A two-vehicle crash in the city of Franklin on Saturday morning, April 26, sent the drivers of both vehicles to area hospitals with injuries. The crash included an emergency-responding Franklin Police Department vehicle and officer.
A Saturday evening Virginia State Police news release stated that earlier that day at around 9:51 a.m., state police were called to investigate a two-vehicle accident in the area of Clay Street and Hunterdale Road in Franklin involving a marked Dodge Charger belonging to Franklin PD.
VSP stated that FPD was in “emergency response” when its vehicle made contact with a blue sedan.
The FPD officer was transported to Bon Secours – Southampton Medical Center with unknown injuries, the news release indicated. VSP said the parties involved driving the blue sedan were flown out to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with unknown injuries.
“The crash is still under investigation at this time,” VSP officials stated.
