FSA honors dedicated members at brunch event

The Franklin Sportsman’s Association (FSA) hosted a heartfelt brunch on Saturday, Feb. 15, themed “Honoring Our Own.” This special event recognized five esteemed FSA members who have dedicated decades of service to the organization and the greater Franklin community.

An FSA news release noted that those honored for their lifelong contributions included the following:

  • Mr. Larry Rose — a founding member with 54-plus years of service;
  • Mr. Herman Charity — 50-plus years of service;
  • Mr. George Cato — 52-plus years of service;
  • Mr. Richard Sumblin — 51-plus years of service; and
  • Mr. Moses Wyche — Exemplary Service Award and 45-plus years of service.

Collectively, these distinguished honorees represent more than 250 years of unwavering dedication to community service in Franklin and its surrounding areas.

During the ceremony, Franklin Sportsman’s Association President James Hobbs praised the honorees, stating, “We are honored to celebrate these men for all of the lives they have touched throughout the years. Their contributions have left a lasting impact on multiple generations who have grown up in the city of Franklin and beyond.”

The event featured inspiring speeches from guest speakers Dr. Alvin Harris and Chester Banks, Esq., who each highlighted the extraordinary commitment of the honorees and the vital role they played in shaping the community.

The Franklin Sportsman’s Association remains committed to fostering community service, mentorship and leadership, with the honorees serving as shining examples of dedication and integrity. The event was a testament to the enduring legacy these men have built and the appreciation they have earned from those they have served.

The Franklin community celebrates these outstanding individuals and thanks them for their selfless service over the years.
