NEWSOMS – Sylvia Anne Lassiter, 80, passed away April 17, 2025 in her home with family by her side. Born in Herford County, North Carolina and raised in Newsoms, she was a daughter of the late Edwin Joshua Lassiter and Kathleen Wall Bryant. Sylvia was a retired sales associate for Walmart.
Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Deborah Barnes; two sons, Stephen “Mud Duck” Lankford and Keith Astor-McKinsley; and two brothers, Charles E. Lassiter of Newsoms and Edwin J. “Ease” Lassiter Jr. of Ahoskie, North Carolina.
