SEDLEY – Wayne Varner Drake, 73, passed away March 30, 2025 at Signature Health Care of Norfolk. He was born in Franklin and raised in Sedley. Wayne attended Southampton High School and was a former technician at Johnson’s Mill. He enjoyed going to the beach, decorating his door at his apartment for every holiday and riding the HRT Bus.
Survivors include a sister, Patricia D. Clark; a brother, James “Chip” C. Drake Jr. and host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be at a later date.
