WINDSOR – Joseph Clinton Griffin Jr. (Joe), 81, of Windsor died on Saturday, March 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and children. Joe was a farmer, but he also worked as an LP Service Technician for Southern States until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of Winds
or Christian Church, where he was a Deacon for many years. He was an active member in the Men’s Fellowship and also a member of the Windsor Ruritan Club and the Windsor Jaycees.
Joe was often described as “salt of the earth” by those who knew and loved him and was a man of great Christian faith. He was generous with his time and talents and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. He had an intelligent and curious mind and could fix anything. He was loving, patient, kind and humble. Though he faced unimaginable challenges in the last several years of his life, his unwavering spirit and faith allowed him to face these obstacles with grace and humility. He was always happy to receive visitors, friends and family alike, and he always greeted them with a huge smile and a big “hello.” He was the embodiment of Christian charity and set an example for all around him. Food never passed his lips without a prayer of thanksgiving to God, whom he loved so much. On the day of his life-changing accident many years ago, he said, “I felt the Lord with me. I was not alone in that field.” His family takes comfort in knowing he is not alone now and that he is with the Lord.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carolyn Holland Griffin; children, Chris Griffin (Susan), Marie Barfield (Bruce), Cassandra Presson (Kevin), Heather Wray (Steve), Roni Picciuolo (Marie) and Craig Griffin; grandchildren, Alaina, Thomas, Alanson, Violet, Elizabeth, Krystal, Casey, Ryan, Torri and Kendle; great-grandchildren, Eisha, James Joseph, Ryland, Kami, Avery, Emmett, Connor, Autumn and Parker; brother, Charles H. Griffin (Connie); brother-in-law, Everette Williams and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Clinton Griffin Sr. and Elaine Butler Griffin and his sister, Carolyn E. Williams.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, at 2 p.m. at Windsor Christian Church with the Rev. Chuck Willman officiating. Burial will follow at the Windsor Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Thursday night from 7 – 9 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel To Towers Foundation at www.t2t.org, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org, or www.donate.cancer.org.
