Riverdale Elementary School (RES) principals Amesheia Warren and Paul Kea recently hosted a breakfast to thank its community partners for their ongoing support.
Dr. Willow Bellevue said in a press release, “Southampton County Public Schools (SCPS) relies on support from various community members, including churches, parents, local businesses like Walmart and International Paper, restaurants, sororities, nonprofits, and current and former staff.”
“We wanted to thank our community partners because they do so much for us,” Co-Principal Warren said. “For example, one parent donated 30 turkeys for our Turkey Bingo Night. Our partners have provided food, school supplies, coats, monetary gifts, their time, and more.”
Kea emphasized the importance of community support in fostering a positive school environment and maintaining high student achievement. “Our community partners have even brought in lunch for our teachers and staff,” he said.
The Southampton County Sheriff’s Department was also recognized as a significant supporter. According to Warren, the department participates in events like “Cupcakes with Cops,” reading to students, and Field Day.
Sheriff Josh A. Wyche expressed his gratitude to his team and the community. “I am thankful for them, and I am thankful for all of you, our community partners, because I couldn’t do your job, and you couldn’t do mine,” Wyche said.
