Franklin High School’s varsity boys soccer team opened its season against Central Lunenburg High School on March 19 at the Armory Drive Sports Complex. The Broncos fought hard but couldn’t stop the Chargers’ offense, losing 5-0.

Franklin Head Coach Juan Quiroz reflected on the game, emphasizing his team’s need for cohesion.

“For our first game, we are working on playing together,” he said. “Next game, we’ll focus on positioning. We’re also adding three new players who will strengthen the team.”

The Broncos fell to 0-3 after losses to visiting Poquoson High School on Friday, March 21, and host Brunswick High School on Monday, March 24. They look to rebound as they hit the road to face Windsor High School on Wednesday, March 26, and Appomattox Regional Governor’s School in Petersburg on Thursday, March 27. Both games will begin at 5:30 p.m.
