CAPRON – Fay Clow Schools, 89, passed away March 22, 2025 in The Village at Woods Edge Memory Care Unit. Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Bowling Green, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Albert Frederick Clow Jr. and Frances Dannehl Clow. She was also predeceased by her husband, Russell Clarence Schools.
Fay was a graduate of Johnston-Willis School of Nursing and was a retired R
egistered Nurse and an accomplished artist. She was a member of the Blackwater Artists League and Capron Methodist Church. Fay was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Lynn Schools Heacock (David) of Richmond; two sons, Russell C. Schools Jr. and Todd D. Schools (Willie), all of Capron; a brother, Albert F. Clow III (Patsy) of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Ryan Heacock (Sarah) of London, England, Garrett Lassiter (Hope) of Boykins, Sam Heacock of New York City, Zoe Schools (Kimiko) of Capron, Alaina Schools of Virginia Beach and Ava Schools of Capron; and two great- grandchildren, Maghnus and Falyn Mathis.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 29 in Capron Methodist Church with the Rev. Nancy Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in Capron Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday in Wright Funeral Home and suggests that memorial donations be made to Capron Methodist Church.
