BRANCHVILLE – Steve Mclane Casper, 65, passed away March 21, 2025 in his home with his family by his side. Born in Ahoskie, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Cedric Eugene Casper Sr. and Gladys Marie Johnson Casper.
Steve was a millwright for Union Camp and International Paper before retiring from West Fraser in Seaboard, North Carolina with over 40-plus years of service in the paper industry. He was a former Branchville volunteer fireman.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 43 years, Beronica Davis “Bonnie
” Casper; a daughter, Elizabeth Harrison (Billy); three sons, Lundy Sadler (Celia), Jonathan Casper (Adrianna) and David Casper (Jennifer); a brother, Cedric Eugene Casper Jr (Rita); and grandchildren, Grayson Marston, Savannah Sadler, Alexandra Marston (Austin), Jocelyn Sadler (Zain), Savannah Lewis, Kayla Casper, Matthew Casper, Leighla Casper, Andrew Casper, Thomas Casper, Nicholas Casper, Wyatt Casper, Aiden Casper, Hunter Casper and Billy Harrison, Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25 in Wright Funeral Home in Franklin with Pastor Joe Poe officiating. Burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 – 8 p.m. in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family would like to give a special thanks to nurse Mary for her wonderful care of Steve.
