FRANKLIN – Robert Lawrence “Bob” Koenig, 88, died March 9

Bob was born Jan. 8, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Lawrence Henry Koenig and Ruth Catherine McKerrall Koenig and was also predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Ardyce Ilene Cossey Koenig and two sisters, Janet Sutton and Kathleen Meagrow.

He is survived by two daughters, Diane Morgan (Pete) and Joan Koenig; four grandchildren, Ashten and Erin Morgan, Brad Woodie (Shannon) and Heather Harrison (Ryan); a great-grandson, Weston; a sister, Linda Kubiel; and nephews, Scott and Steve Sutton, Jay and Jeff Meagrow and Eric Kubiel; and many lifelong friends.

Bob graduated from Valparaiso University and the University of Michigan. He was a forester beginning at Union Bag in Savannah, Georgia and retiring from Union Camp in Franklin. He was a member of the Hunterdale Ruritan Club and Grace Lutheran Church. Bob enjoyed his “BORED” meetings at Fred’s with John Underwood, Rich Hunting and Denise Wlodyka.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 14 in Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Dennis Buchholz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Grace Lutheran Church, 25280 New Market Road, Courtland, VA 23837.
