Franklin High School’s varsity boys basketball team defeated Northumberland High School 60-54 on Tuesday evening, March 4, in the Virginia High School League Class 1 state quarterfinal at Southampton High School.

With the victory, the Broncos (16-12) advance to the state semifinals on Friday, March 7, where they will face host Lancaster High School (17-7). The Red Devils advanced to the semifinals by defeating Altavista High School 77-45 on Tuesday.
