The Nottoway Elementary School chapter of Girls on the Run took part in the organization’s winter 5K on Sunday, Dec. 15, and also sponsored an important relief drive.
An NES news release stated that the girls practiced their physical fitness skills every Wednesday and Friday before school during the months of September, October, November and December in an effort to build their running endurance.
Led by coaches Kiley Haywood, Danielle Stallard and Erin Whitley, the girls dedicated themselves to preparing for the race.
The Nottoway Girls on the Run team also sponsored a Hurricane Helene Relief Drive to collect supplies for those affected by the natural disaster in late September 2024.
“Congratulations to all of the outstanding participants on this year’s team,” school officials stated.
