The hard-working literary students of Meherrin Elementary School’s Book Club enjoyed a fun outing just prior to winter break. 

A school news release noted that for several weeks prior, the students in the Book Club met with Amy Hinson and Lisa Skeeters during their lunch to discuss what they read over the past week in their book, “The Greatest Christmas Pageant Ever” by Barbara Robinson. 

Upon completion of the book, the students were able to go on a field trip to view the new movie based on the book. 

Following their trip, the Book Club met to compare the similarities and differences between the book and the movie. 

“What a way to make reading fun!” school officials said. “Keep up the great work, Meherrin Eagles.”
