Members of the Franklin Tri-County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s Project Program Planning and Development Committee traveled to elementary schools in Southampton County on Wednesday, Jan. 29, to deliver coats, hats and gloves.

A chapter news release noted that the items were donated at the chapter’s recent annual MLK Walk and Program as part of the chapter’s 2025 Community Service Project.

Principals at each school were very appreciative, chapter officials noted, and the chapter members presenting the donated items at the schools included Chapter President Dorothy Blunt, Committee Chairperson Lillian Davis, Committee Co-Chair Kisha Watford and Sabrina Tann.

As more items are donated, they will be distributed to elementary schools in the city of Franklin, Surry County and Sussex County.
