COURTLAND – Jeri Simmons Daniel, 66, passed away Feb. 12, 2025 in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Born in Norfolk on Oct. 12, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm Davis Simmons and Jessie Mae Davis Simmons.

a former Deputy Treasurer for Southampton County. She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 36 years, Danny Hale Daniel; a son, Ian Nicholas Daniel and his wife, Sarah; two grandchildren, Harper Addison Daniel and Henley Haywood Daniel; an aunt, Stella Griggs; a niece, Audrey Simmons Ward and her husband, Shane; two great-nieces, Taylor and Tasia; a great-nephew, Shane Ward Jr. and a special friend (sister), Tammy Fowler.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19 in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the ALS Association or the American Cancer Society.
