The Youth Basketball League, presented by the Franklin Department of Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Camp25 Foundation, delivered an action-packed day of games Sunday, Feb. 2, highlighted by standout performances from the league’s top teams.
An FDPR news release noted that in the Rookie Division (ages 4-7), the undefeated Raptors (4-0) dominated the court, securing back-to-back wins in a flawless doubleheader. The Junior Division (ages 8-10) saw a thrilling showdown as the Broncos (1-2) secured their first victory of the season in a hard-fought battle against No. 2 seed Team Buddy, edging them out 12-11.
The Senior Division (ages 11-14) brought the intensity to new heights as the top-ranked Bulls (3-0) faced off against the No. 2 seed Warriors (2-1) in the highest-scoring game of the season. Both teams fought fiercely for the top spot, but the Bulls pulled away with a commanding 54-33 victory.
“With every game, these young athletes continue to showcase their passion, skill and sportsmanship,” FDPR officials stated.
The league competes every Sunday at J.P. King Jr. Career and Technical Academy leading up to the championships on Sunday, March 9.
