FRANKLIN – Samuel Andrew Moon, born on Feb. 1, 1940, passed away peacefully on Dec. 30, 2024, at the age of 84.
Samuel is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mae Moon; three brothers, Charles Moon (Jetta), Elmer Moon (Martha Kate), Bill Moon (Deanna); twin sister, Atta Joan Moon; and son, David Moon.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Christine Moon. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Cathy Moon and Cindy Moon and a loving stepfather to Robin Davis and Nancy Duck (Stephen). Samuel’s legacy lives on through his seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
A hardworking and dedicated professional, Samuel graduated from Lilburn High School as the Salutatorian, then graduated from Marsh Business College. He was a certified public accountant for 43 years and also was a maintenance worker for the City of Doraville in Georgia. His commitment to excellence in his work was matched by his dedication to his community.
Samuel was an active member of Sycamore Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and spiritual fulfillment. He also enjoyed being part of Woodman Lodge 18 and Senior Circle. A generous spirit, he volunteered at the local hospital, giving back to those in need with kindness and compassion.
In his leisure time, Samuel loved playing cards and cherished moments spent with family and friends. His warmth and humor made every gathering special.
In honor of Samuel’s life, visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 3 at Wright Funeral Home from 6 – 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. at Sycamore Baptist Church with Pastor Tracey Pugh and the Rev. Roger Crump officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Lawn Cemetery in Suffolk.
Samuel Andrew Moon will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family, faith and community. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
