Police Chief Steve Patterson has announced his retirement from the city of Franklin effective Jan. 1, 2025.

A Thursday, Dec. 12, Franklin Police Department news release noted that Patterson came to the FPD in August 2019.

“During his tenure, Chief Patterson has worked diligently to improve the police department’s fleet, policies and procedures, technology through the addition of cameras and license plate readers, and community policing,” FPD officials stated.

Patterson said, “I am very thankful for the opportunities the city of Franklin has given our department. I am proud of the work the men and women of the Franklin Police Department have done to build partnerships with community members and groups to ensure a successful future of the city of Franklin.”
