Bon Secours Hampton Roads recently announced the appointment of Kristen L. McSorley, DNP, RN, CNML, as the vice president of nursing for Bon Secours Harbour View Medical Center, which is slated to open in 2025. 

A July 24 Bon Secours Hampton Roads news release stated that McSorley brings a wealth of experience and leadership to her new role, which she will assume on Aug. 25.

McSorley joins Bon Secours Harbour View from Cincinnati, Ohio, where she currently serves as the clinical nursing director for The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health. 

Her journey with the health system began in 2007 as a nurse at Mercy Health – Fairfield Hospital in Cincinnati, starting as a patient care technician. Over her 16 years with the ministry, McSorley has held various nursing leadership positions, demonstrating her dedication and expertise in health care administration.

In addition to her extensive practical experience, McSorley holds a doctorate in nursing practice (DNP) from Mount St. Joseph University, a master’s degree in health care administration from Xavier University, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ohio University, and an associate degree in nursing from The Good Samaritan College of Nursing. Her educational background, coupled with her leadership roles, makes McSorley a valuable addition to the Harbour View team.

Bon Secours Harbour View Medical Center is set to expand services currently offered at the Bon Secours Health Center at Harbour View campus. The new, approximately 10,000 square-foot facility will include 18 medical/surgical beds, four operating rooms, and integrate a free-standing emergency department, imaging center and lab into a comprehensive medical facility.
