FRANKLIN – Shirley Lee Munford Vasser, 84, passed away June 1, 2024 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Southampton County and was a daughter of the late Jasper J. and Ella Cobb Munford.

Shirley was retired from Franklin Equipment Company and was a member of Burdette Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Edward Lawrence Vasser Jr. of Suffolk, Steven Vasser of Franklin, and Douglas Vasser of Sedley; two sisters, Mary Darden of Franklin and Sallie Everett of Suffolk; a brother, Randy Munford of Franklin; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday June 5 at Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Joe Poe officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday in Wright Funeral Home and suggests memorial donations be made to Burdette Baptist Church.
