On Wednesday, May 15, Blackwater Robotics participated as an exhibitor in the Aerospace Mechanisms Symposium, which was hosted by NASA and Lockheed Martin and held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

The team was a 2024 Dr. Charles Coale Robotics Team awardee, and as part of this prestigious honor, it demonstrated the robot and presented technical information to attendees from around the world.

The Dr. Charles Coale Award was originally established to help young individuals who have the potential to make significant contributions to the fields of science, medicine, and/or engineering. In 2022, the AMS began awarding student Robotics Teams to help fill the pipeline for future mechanism engineers.

The team thanked Ben Nickless and Terry Nienaber from the Langley Research Center in Hampton for considering and ultimately honoring the Blackwater Robotics Team with the Coale Award this year.
