The City of Franklin Police Department recently arrested a Franklin man on three counts of possession of child pornography.

A Friday, May 31, FPD news release stated that the department received information from the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program in reference to child pornography being possessed and distributed by the arrestee.

Acting upon that information, detectives applied for and obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 300 block of Robinhood Road in Franklin, police said, adding that as a result of that search, multiple items were taken to include images of child pornography.

The news release stated that the arrestee, James Drewry, 60, of Franklin, was charged with three counts of possession of child pornography.

Police indicated the arrestee was held without bond and delivered to the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.

This investigation is ongoing.
