Capron Elementary School students recently had the opportunity to participate in a reading program sponsored by the Norfolk Tides baseball team. The students were given the entire month of February to read a certain number of books in order to receive free tickets to Tides baseball games.  Each child who met the challenge received tickets to go to a Norfolk Tides game during the months of May through September for a total of five free games. Adult companions are invited and given discounted tickets as well as one free ticket. The children enjoyed reading to meet the requirements to see the Tides play baseball.  Capron Elementary School expressed its appreciation to the Tides Baseball team and looks forward to continuing the partnership to encourage students to keep reading.
