The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Southampton County until 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 3.

There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m., with a slight chance of showers between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Some storms could be severe, producing large hail and damaging winds of 6 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. 

The watch also includes Isle of Wight, Surry, and Sussex County.
