Donzell is a product of the Franklin City Public School system, graduating in 2009. During his time at Franklin High School, Shearin was a decorated athlete participating in many different sports.  Shearin was a member of the baseball, basketball, and football teams throughout his years at FHS. While at FHS, he attained many accomplishments; however, his most favorite memory is winning a State Championship in Football.

After graduating high school, Shearin attended UVA Wise where he was a member of their football team.  Later, Shearin decided to transfer to the Newport News Apprentice School in Newport News.  At the Apprentice School, Shearin developed a passion for welding and decided that he was going to make welding a career – Shearin has been welding now for 14 years.

While welding is his full-time job, Shearin still has time to coach at his alma mater of FHS.  Shearin has been the boys JV basketball coach for the past 3 years while also assisting with the varsity team. Coaching is very rewarding and he enjoys helping the young men at the school develop their skills and love for the game.  Not only is he a coach, but a mentor to the young men that attend Franklin High School.
