Man reported missing from Franklin group home

The City of Franklin Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a man reported missing from a Franklin-based group home.

Fifty-two-year-old Charles Buchanon, who has been reported missing, is described as a white male, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 167 pounds, with blue eyes and blonde hair.

The department noted in a news release that on Friday, Jan. 19, the FPD was contacted by the Western Tidewater Community Services Board to report that Charles Buchanon, 52, was being reported as missing from a group home in the city of Franklin. 

Police determined that Buchanon was missing, and an investigation began. 

Buchanon is described as a white male, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 167 pounds, with blue eyes and blonde hair. 

Buchanon was last seen wearing an orange jacket, black pants and boots. 

The release stated that Buchanon suffers from mental illness and is in need of his medications.

He is known to frequent the city of Franklin and the city of Portsmouth area near Victory Crossing.
