Franklin’s retired veterans of Battery B-111, now known as Delta 429 Support Unit, assembled at the Applebee’s on Armory Drive for their 23rd annual Veterans Day banquet on Saturday, Nov. 11. A news release from Chaplain/Coordinator Sgt. Demetreious Mathews noted that “the men pictured here are far more than ordinary citizens. They are extraordinary, proud veterans who have served this country, the United States of America, faithfully and honorably. There are men and women serving in the (USA’s military branches) as you read this that are in possible harm’s way. Please pray for them and their families that they will return to their loved ones and one day become proud veterans themselves. To God be the glory, A.A.F.” The pictured veterans who gathered at the Applebee’s offered a special thanks to the restaurant’s management and staff for hosting their assembly. Veterans pictured are, from left, front row, Sgt. Mathews; middle row, E-6 Ernest Freeman, Sgt.
