The City of Franklin Christmas Parade helped usher in the holiday season that is reaching its crescendo across the next week and a half.

The parade, which took place Dec. 1, featured 90 participants and drew a tremendous crowd to downtown Franklin.

“We are thrilled with the attendance at the City of Franklin Holiday Parade,” Franklin City Manager Amanda C. Jarratt said. “We believe that this was the largest attendance in recent history. Despite the threat of rain, the weather was beautiful and the streets filled with holiday joy.”

Jarratt made a point to express gratitude to the different groups that helped make the parade the success that it was.

“We appreciate all of the time and effort that each of the participants put into their floats, the preparation of the bands and smiles along the way,” she said. “We appreciate the dedication of the city staff and volunteers that make events like the holiday parade possible in the city. The parade was an amazing kickoff to the holiday season in the community.”
