FRANKLIN – Lou Ann Ward Wright, 70, passed a

way Dec. 16, 2023 in Sentara Obici Hospital. She was born on Nov. 9, 1953 in Portsmouth, Virginia to John Norfleet Ward Jr. and Ellen Kathleen Moore Ward.

Lou Ann worked with her family at Franklin Truck and Trailer Service Inc. She loved to work in her yard and loved flowers, flamingos, hummingbirds, dancing and traveling. The beach was her favorite place.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, David Edgar Wright Jr.; her children, Michelle Paschall and Walter J. Paschall III (Shannon); David’s children, Keith Wright (Kira), Kevin Wright (Sarah) and Steve Wright (Lisa); her mother, Ellen Moore Ellis; two brothers, Al Ward and John Ward (Bettie); two sisters, Renae Powers (Dennis) and Lisa Williams; five grandchildren, Aiden, Bailey and Abi Paschall and Allie and Ethan Holdren; David’s grandchildren, Dustin Wright, Morgan Jones, Sadie, Henry, Sally, Samantha and Sarah Wright; David’s great-grandchildren, Emmie and Ellie; special nieces and nephews, Chrissy Fowler, Wesley and Lauren Fowler, Dustin and Bella Powers, Daniel Powers, Carter, Hadleigh, Mallory, Jacob, Jackson and Landon Fowler, Alex Williams (Amanda), Aaron Williams and Tucker Williams; sister-in-law, Linda Eure; and her “baby boy” Yorkie, Sheldon.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21 in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Hoyle Green officiating. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to Make a Wish America, Gift Processing, 1702 East High Avenue, Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
