RED HOUSE, Virginia – The Rev. Dr. Mark Reginald Warren, 70, of Red House, Virginia, died on Dec. 7, 2023. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Van Edwin Warren and Ruby Whited Warren Davis, of Lebanon, Tennessee.

He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Lucianne Wood Warren of Red House; four children, Bethany Hunter (Matthew), Allison Allgood (Bryan), Adam Warren and Daniel Warren (Lydia); and seven grandchildren, Lucas, Elizabeth and Caleb Hunter; Abigail, Olivia and Lucy Allgood; and Mark Henry Warren. He is also survived by three sisters, Edwina Reeder, Elaine Milliken and Betty Jo Vaden and two brothers, Steve and Eric Warren.

Rev. Warren, Reggie to most, was born Jan. 27, 1953, in Wilson County, Tennessee. Growing up on a farm, he maintained a close connection to the land by spending much of his free time outdoors hunting, fishing, beekeeping and hobby farming. He answered God’s call to ministry as a young man and during his lifetime served as pastor to several churches throughout Virginia. In addition to his church ministry, he was active in Virginia Baptist life and served one term as President of the Baptist General Association of Virginia.

Though he did not consider himself a scholar, Reggie’s collection of sermons and essays is prolific. He shared many life lessons, both written and unwritten, with those around him. He was a friend, mentor and counselor to everyone he encountered from all walks of life.

He cherished his family above all others and considered his children the greatest blessings of his life.
