FRANKLIN – Dianne Hundley Hirsch, 80, passed away Dec. 2, 2023 in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Dianne was born Oct. 15, 1943 in Newport News and grew up in Deltaville, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Denvie Blanton Hundley and Mabel Daniel Hundley. She was predeceased by her husband, Harvey Arthur Hirsch Jr. and her first husband, Gerald Lee Duncan, a grandson, Dustin Jacob “Dusty” Whitehurst and a son-in-law, Wamer Lewis Mayes Jr.

Dianne was a graduate of Middlesex High School in Saluda and was a member of Harvest Christian Fellowship Church and grew up in Zoar Baptist Church in Deltaville.

Dianne had retired as the personal secretary for Sol W. Rawls Jr. after over 50 years of service and was retired executive assistant for S.W. Rawls Inc. after over 50 years of service.

ky Duncan Whitehurst; three grandchildren, Katie Joyner (Makinzie), Taylor Joyner, Capt. William Lewis Mayes, USMC (Shelby) and Harvey’s two daughters, Nancy H. Brown (Phillip) and Linda H. Drake (Neil); Harvey’s four grandchildren, Emily E. Brown, Grayson D. Hasty (Dillon), William M. Brown Jr. and Emma C. Drake and one great-grandchild, Collins J. Hasty.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Wright officiating. The burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6 in Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery, 17097 General Puller Highway, Deltaville, Virginia. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Harvest Christian Fellowship Church, 27002 Smiths Ferry Road, Franklin, VA 23851 or the American Cancer Society.
