A museum flier noted that on Dec. 2, the gates will open at 4 p.m., and activities will start at 5 p.m., rain or shine.

People will be admitted to the event for a small per-person fee or a non-perishable food item. Children ages 2 and younger will be admitted for free.

Features of the Dec. 2 event will include the Polar Express and Christmas model trains; train rides for children in the decorated Heritage Village; an opportunity to visit and be photographed with Santa and Mrs. Clause; cookies and hot cocoa; old-time tree decorating; a camp fire; a Nativity with live animals; special appearances by favorite Christmas characters; hot dogs, chips and drinks for sale and more.

Monetary donations will be accepted for admission to the Dec. 9 event, where attendees will be able to walk around the Heritage Village to see the lights, and model trains will also be running. There will be no other activities on this night.
