FRANKLIN – Mills Robert “Bob” Edwards, 92, passed away July 31, 2023, at The Village at Woods Edge where he was loved and cared for the past seven years. Born and raised in Franklin, he was a son of the late Clyde Tyler Edwards and Fannie Marks Edwards. He was also predeceased by his wife, Lois Drewry Edwards; two brothers, Tyler Edwards Jr. and Marks Edwards; a grandson, Kris Cooper and a daughter-in-law, Starr Edwards.

Bob was a graduate of Franklin High School and attended Randolph Macon College. He was a Navy veteran and a retired maintenance supervisor for Union Camp Corporation after 42 years of service. Bob was a member of Delaware Hunt Club, the Bronco Rod and Gun Club and the Franklin Masonic Lodge. He was an avid hunter and bird dog trainer. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Vicky E. Copeland (Peter) of Franklin and Lisa E. Obenchain (Scott) of Dublin, Virginia; two sons, Bobby Edwards of Conway, South Carolina and Doug Edwards (Candy) of Franklin; nine grandchildren, Amber Casstevens (Chad), Landon Copeland (Lyndsay), Gene Wilder, Tina Wilder, Lindsay Hill, Courtney Edwards (Austin), Kaycie Lowe (Josh), Kristen Crocker (Brett) and Nicole Obenchain; 20 great-grandchildren, Emilee, Evelyn, Samson, Rose, Ruby, Rutledge, Blakely, Bowen, Brandon, Logan, Hailey, Megan, Tressa, Paige, Alyssa, Chloe, Faith, Noah, Kristgen and Kari and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 4 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Obenchain officiating. The burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to Sycamore Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
