FRANKLIN – Agnes “Jackie” Blythe Vinson, 92, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus early Wednesday morning July 5, 2023. Jackie was born in Isle of Wight County, a daughter of the late William Lynn and Thelma Womble Blythe. She was also predeceased by her husband, Howard L. Vinson Sr., a stepsister, Essie Blythe Joyner and a stepbrother, Fenton Blythe.

Jackie was a former Southampton County School bus driver for over 10 years and also worked at local car dealerships in the Parts and Services Departments.

She was a charter member of Hunterdale Baptist Church and received Christ at a very young age. She was a member of the Ladies Bible Fellowship, Dorcas, High Street Seniors, helped with Vacation Bible School and was a hostess to pastors and missionaries visiting in the area, opening her home for meals and a place to sleep when needed. She enjoyed reading and shopping.

Left to cherish her memory is three daughters, Renee Griffith (Wayne), Robin Burgess (Dennis) and Rhonda Griffin (Johnnie); three sons, Rev. Howard L. Vinson Jr. (Sandra), William “Billy” Vinson (Susan) and John Vinson (Alyce); 15 grandchildren, William “Will” Vinson, Jr. (LeAnn), Johanna Vinson Ybarra (Michael), Gerald “Jerry” Griffith, Jr. (April), Chris Vinson, Heidi Vinson, Larry “Wes” Griffith (Stacey), John Vinson, Jr. (Ashley), Elizabeth Vinson Lester (Timothy), Leslie Griffin Staley (Tony), Stuart Breeden (Mallory), Matthew Burgess (Jessie), Annelise Burgess Schlachter (Ryan), Lindsey Griffin Wyche (Josh), Robert Johnson (Jennifer) and David Johnson (Christine); 31 great-grandchildren, Carson Vinson, Mikayla Ybarra, Cody Ybarra, Mackenzie Griffith, Morgan Griffith, Grayson Griffith, Addison Griffith, Paige Griffith, Mayson Griffith, Tyler Collier, Cayleigh Vinson, Leilani Vinson, Tim Lester, Jr., Emmalee Lester, Tobias Lester, Landon Staley, Tessa Staley, Ophelia Staley, Penelope Staley, Mckenna Breeden, Peyton Douglas, Lydia Burgess, Atlas Burgess, Emma Schlachter, Sadie Schlachter, Ava Wyche, Alex Wyche, Tiffany Johnson, Donna Johnson, Brittany Johnson Maffei (Jacob) and Billy Johnson and one great-great grandchild, Carter Maffei.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11 in Hunterdale Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Hardman and the Rev. Howard L. Vinson Jr. officiating. The burial will follow at Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, July 10 in Wright Funeral Home from 6 – 8 p.m. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Hunterdale Baptist Church, your local Fire and Rescue or any favorite charity.
