All lanes reopen on Smiths Ferry Road bridge over Nottoway

All lanes of U.S. Route 258 (Smiths Ferry Road) over the Nottoway River are open to traffic as of Thursday, June 15, following the completion of bridge repair work by Virginia Department of Transportation contractor crews.
A VDOT news release noted that repairs to the railing of the bridge, located north of Route 686 (Riverdale Drive) and approximately two miles from the North Carolina state line, were completed ahead of schedule.
A single-lane closure, which had been in place since June 5, has been lifted at this location.
