May FCPS School Alumni Spotlight: Tevin Sumblin

Tevin Sumblin, also known as E.R.A, is a 2013 honor graduate of Franklin High School. While at FHS, Tevin was part of many athletic teams and clubs. Sumblin found his love for baseball while at FHS, and he went on to win District Player of the Year in his senior season. Upon graduating from FHS, Sumblin matriculated at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering. 

While attending North Carolina A&T, Sumblin continued his passion in baseball, music and various clubs at the University. With NCAT being the #1 HBCU in Engineering, many doors were opened. During his junior and senior year of college, he interned with NASA in Mountain View, California. There he studied UAV Engineering and Architectural Restoration. Sumblin graduated with honors in Engineering.

After graduating college, he worked as a project superintendent in Construction. He has worked with his company for six years. Sumblin’s most memorable project to date is being part of a $250 million-dollar renovation for the Atlanta Hawks Arena. Sumblin has also been able to turn his love for music into a career. He is currently a recording artist and has two songs featured on NBA2K22 video game sound track. He is on the rise, as he has amassed almost 1 million streams as a rapper.

Sumblin is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and loves being an active member in his community.

Most importantly, Sumblin is a man of God. His faith is what he credits for all his blessings in his life. Even in his music, he loves to tell the world about Jesus! Sumblin is married to his high school sweetheart who he met his senior year, and their family is growing.
