The second grade classes at Meherrin Elementary School have been very busy in recent weeks as they learned all about the importance of agriculture within the community.
An MES news release noted that the students had the opportunity to visit Hancock Farms in Sedley for “Farm Day.”
While on the field trip, students enjoyed hands-on experiences that involved picking cotton, soil samples, hay rides, a puppet show and story time.
“The school would like to thank Hancock Farms and all of the amazing volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to making this field trip so educational for the students,” MES officials said.
