While browsing The Tidewater News, I came upon the article “A call to action for Clean Rivers Month.” After reading this, it really served as a breath of fresh air because it shows that there are people in this community who care as much as I do about keeping our environment clean and healthy.

Before reading, I was not informed on Clean Rivers Month. I appreciate how straightforward, and detailed the article was. Not only do I now know about Clean Rivers Month, but it perfectly explains how anyone can take action not only just in the month of April, but year-round.

Living in the Franklin area, sometimes it truly is sad to see how residents treat our beautiful town. I often see how poorly the Blackwater River is treated, and it strikes something inside me to take action. In my opinion, every individual should do their part in keeping our waters clean, which is why it is refreshing to see a movement in support of that.

Clean Rivers Month is definitely something that I will participate in, and will highly encourage loved ones to do.
