The Courtland Branch of the Blackwater Regional Library recently hosted Dr. Latorial Faison, poet, author, educator, and independent scholar who currently serves on the faculty at Virginia State University. The Southampton County native spoke to the audience about her new book, “The Missed Education of the Negro” and her series of poetry books. Faison recognized the influence of her teachers though out her education and the impact they had. A note of thanks to both Dr. Faison and the staff at the Courtland Branch of the Blackwater Regional Library for bringing this event to the community.
