ude Thurman “Tom” Parker, passed away April 4, 2023 in her home with family by her side. Born in Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of the late Crawford B. Joyner and Elizabeth Merle Uzzel Joyner. She was also predeceased by a sister, Nettie J. Kelly.

Josie was a graduate of Ivor High School and was a member of Colosse Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Jeannette P. Fritts of Windsor; two sons, Jeffrey Wayne Parker (Pam) of Spotsylvania, Virginia and Joseph Claude Parker (Gwen) of Culver City, California; three sisters, Merle J. Monahan of Ivor, Gloria J. Eppler of Oklahoma and Linda J. King of Ivor; two brothers, Harold Massey Joyner of Ivor and Crawford B. Joyner Jr. of Wakefield; four grandchildren, Matthew Fritts, Paige Fritts, Jerry Chapman (Chelsea) and Aaron Warner and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11 in Colosse Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home Monday, April 10 from 6 – 8 p.m. and suggests memorial donations may be made to the Colosse Baptist Church Building Fund or the Masonic Home of Virginia, 4101 Nine Mile Road, Richmond, VA 23223.
