Donielle Babb is a 2006 graduate of Franklin High School.

A Franklin City Public Schools news release noted that while attending FHS, he played multiple sports in which he excelled and received many honors.

He led the 2004 Broncos varsity football team to its first state championship and set three Region A state records, including the most yards in a state championship game (378 yards) with the least carries (18) and the longest running touchdown (91 yards), which still stand today.

After graduation, he attended and played football at Hampton University for two years and finished at Elizabeth City State University with a degree in graphic design in 2013.

After graduating from ECSU, Babb started his own business, Illgrind Multimedia Group LLC, and joined the Southampton High School football coaching staff as both the junior varsity head coach and varsity running backs coach from 2013-15.

Babb spent the next six years chasing a career in music and building his multimedia business.

In 2021 he was inducted onto the Franklin Community Wall of Excellence under the category of outstanding athlete.

In 2022 Babb began reaching out to the youth in the community and began training and mentoring them through his new youth athletic program, Grind 25/8 Youth Athletic Development. He trains in five sports: football, baseball, basketball, soccer and track. To learn more about his program, visit his website at www.g258yad.com.

Babb has recently returned home and joined the coaching staff of his beloved Franklin Broncos football team for the upcoming 2023 season. This decision was inspired by his 5-year-old daughter, Harmoni Nicole Babb, who said she wanted to see him coach football.

Babb also coaches his daughter’s all-girls T-ball team through the Down the Middle Foundation and her basketball team with Camp25 Inc.

Babb has been married to Sheena Denise Babb for three-and-a-half years.
