FRANKLIN – Jessie Griffin Turner, 84, widow of George Wilbur Turner Jr., passed away on Feb. 7, 2023 in Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Hubert Jesse Griffin and Linda Holt Griffin. Jessie was also predeceased by her daughter, Susan Joyner and a brother, David Griffin.

Jessie was a graduate of Wakefield High School and was a retired humidity room tech from Union Camp Corporation. She was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church.

Left to cherish her memory is a son, George W. Turner III and his wife Judy of Waverly; a sister, Barbara Wade; three grandchildren, Calli Kunkle and her husband, Phillip, Nathan Turner and AnnaBelle Turner; two great-grandchildren, Rose Kunkle and Phillip Kunkle Jr.; and a very special niece, Kim Marks.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at a later date.
