To the Editor:

I would like to thank the S & S Hunt Club (Sands and Statesville) for picking up trash recently on Statesville Road. Not only did they fill two trucks with garbage bags of trash thrown out by fast food eaters, and beer and soft drink users, but they also found a tire or two and two gas tanks from trucks. This small part of Southampton County is now free of trash and I hope it can stay that way.

I challenge other hunt clubs and civic organizations to follow the example set by S & S Hunt Club.
