Joseph P. King Jr. Middle School seventh graders who earned a place on either the Principal’s List or the Honor Roll during the first quarter of the 2022-23 school year were recognized in a ceremony in the school’s auditorium Dec. 2.

A Franklin City Public Schools news release noted that students who made the Principal’s List had earned all A’s, and students who made the Honor Roll had earned all A’s and B’s.

JPK Assistant Principal Michelle Gunter welcomed students, parents and faculty to the morning program Dec. 2. As each student was called to the stage, a medal was placed around their neck and a certificate was presented.

To further congratulate the honorees, Principal Dr. Regina Stafford shook each pupil’s hand. She explained to parents in the audience and those watching on a Zoom link that this feature is done to teach the students a skill they will need later in life.
