FRANKLIN – Robert “Bubba” White of Pocahontas Avenue, Franklin, transitioned from this earthly life to claim his eternal rest on Jan. 4, 2023. He was the son of the late Robert Diggs and Julia Ann White, born in Smithfield, Virginia on Dec. 5, 1942.

Bubba received his early education in the Isle of Wight County School System where he graduated from Westside High School with the class of 1964. Bubba was employed with Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock for over 40 years. After retirement, he enjoyed being with his family and spending time with friends.

Robert’s memory will always remain with his loving wife, Thelma S. White; one son, Andrey Johnson (Marie); two grandchildren, Cierra White and DeAndré Johnson; two great-grandchildren; one aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

On Saturday, Jan. 14 a public viewing will be held at the funeral home from 2 – 6 p.m. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m at Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1071 Carrsville Highway, Franklin with Dr. Kim D. Shivers delivering the message; The Rev. Alfred D. Brown Sr. is the pastor. The committal and benediction will follow in Southview Cemetery. Masks are required at all services.
