Dr. Charles Qualls, Franklin Baptist Church’s senior pastor, returns to international radio on two upcoming Sundays in January 2023. 

An FBC news release noted that on Jan. 8 and 15, Qualls will deliver sermons on the program called Day1, a mainline Protestant broadcast ministry. His Jan. 8 (Epiphany) message will draw on Matthew 3:13-17 and is titled “Water That Renews Us.” His sermon for Jan. 15 will be based on John 1:29-42 and is titled “Two Powerful Stories and A Distraction.” These programs will be Qualls’ sixth and seventh Day1 sermons delivered over the years. 

Day1 programs are hosted by Peter Wallace, and last 30 minutes each week. They will include interviews with Qualls both before and after the brief sermons each week. Qualls mentioned that he is almost always asked about life in Franklin and about his church. 

“For instance, one time they asked me about how the church had managed through the pandemic,” Qualls said. “They also asked about how my wife and I had fared in the loss of parents within mere weeks of each other, among other things. In the after-sermon interviews, we discussed some of the finer points of the messages themselves.”

Naturally, the Day1 website is a primary way that many listeners enjoy the programming, by audio podcast. These can be accessed anytime the sermons are released during their scheduled week.
