FRANKLIN – Christine J. Myrick of Artis Street, Franklin, peacefully answered her heavenly call on January 3, 2023. She was born May 8, 1936 to James A. and Carrie P. Jones in Southampton County.

Christine was a 1956 graduate of Hayden High School and further matriculated at Virginia Union College. She was gainfully employed with the Franklin City Public School System as a Title One Teacher’s Assistant. Christine was a skilled self-employed hairstylist.

Christine was a devoted member of First Baptist Church where she diligently served on the Senior Usher Ministry, XYZ Senior Ministry and the Senior Choir. During her earlier years, she served on the Harmonic and Family Choirs where she remained faithful until they ceased performing.

Christine was the widow of Richard C. Myrick and her parents also preceded her in death. She will always remain in the hearts of her loving daughters, Patrice Jones, Robin Jones, Richell Joyner and husband, Maurice; her devoted son, Willie Jones and wife, Deanne; granddaughter, Keondra Pope; three great-grandchildren; one aunt, Mary E. Elam; uncle, Charlie Parker, many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A public viewing will be held at the funeral home Friday from 3 – 7 p.m. A service honoring Christine’s life will be at noon on Saturday, Jan. 14 at First Baptist Church, 318 Hall Street in Franklin with the pastor, the Rev. Marcus Jennings delivering the eulogy. The committal and benediction will follow in Southview Cemetery. Service provided by the professional and caring staff of Wm. M.
