WINDSOR – Lorene Butler Johnson, 90 of Windsor, Virginia, passed away in her home on Monday, Dec. 26, 2022. She was born to the late Horace Harrison Butler and Frankie Mae Moore Butler of Windsor. Lorene attended Windsor High School where she met her husband, Winston Raymond Johnson. They were married for almost 60 years prior to his passing in 2006.

She was always found reading for hours on end. Cooking and baking were also important to her. She loved family meals and cooking for others. In 2019, she won the King Arthur Baking Contest for her prize-winning pecan pie. When she was in the kitchen, she would have her beloved bluegrass music playing in the background.
