Wynndolyn H. Copeland was born in Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School in 1983. 

While attending FHS, she played on the girls’ basketball and softball teams.

She graduated from Virginia Union University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 1987. She is a member of the Franklin Tri-County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. 

Currently a casework counselor, Copeland has been a Virginia state employee for 34 years.

She is married to Joel M. Copeland; they have a daughter, Patina Copeland. Wynndolyn’s mother is Mary Hilliard.
